Phantasmagoria: The Movie

Sir Billi‘s Miriam Margolyes will star as Harriet in a movie version of Sierra classic ‘Phantasmagoria‘.

Black Castle Productions are developing the film which is based on the 1995 FMVpoint and click‘ game of the same name. As in the game, Phantasmagoria The Movie follows the story of Adrienne Delaney and husband Donald Gordon, who move into a mansion owned by a 19th century magician.

The full cast is yet to be announced, however BAFTA winning actress Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter, Sir Billi) has been confirmed to play Harriet – the shabby vagrant living in the barn of the mansion’s estate.

The movie’s Facebook page reported:

VERY excited to announce that Miriam Margolyes will be playing the part of Harriet in Phantasmagoria: The Movie! Not only is she an award winning BAFTA actress but you might recognize her from Harry Potter as Professor Sprout!

The production will be filmed in Louisiana within a budget not exceeding $10 million. It is being co-written and produced by Sabrina Cooper, with Steven Shea serving as director.

Film Producer Sabrina Cooper said:

As a huge fan of the game when I was in high school, we are all very excited to bring this film to life…We also have a few surprises up our sleeves, some things that actually have never been done before in our industry! Like I said, as fans of the game, we are all pretty excited about this project.
